When it comes to online work, there are really 3 common perspectives, and in a lot of cases it is actually more of an evolution than a list:
1. Those who think working from home online is easy, and will make you rich overnight.
2. Those who think everything about online work is a scam, many of whom where once in the first category and got scammed.
3. Those who know know that online work is like everything else in life; you only get what you put into it. Many of these people once fell in the first two categories.
There is no “big secret” to making quick money online. This is not the 90’s dot com era. The internet has been around for a long time now, and anything of significance blows up on social media real quickly.
The fact of the matter is…
Making legit money online is a grind just like everything else.
So, it is not for someone who just simply does not want to work.
The good news is is that the payoff is much better, and while the work itself maybe difficult, with the right training, tools, and some dedication, you will be able to make money while creating content about a topic that you are passionate about!
Personally, mine are health reasons, and the simple fact that I didn’t like scraping ice of my car at 7:00 am and then driving twenty miles to do a job that I don’t even like doing.
Not only that, but you can keep yourself above the fray, and you don’t have to worry about unemployment rates and layoffs or whatever the case may be.
I built this site to try and guide others on how to create their own online business and reap the benefits of an independent income, but it will focus mainly on those of us who are tired of working for other people, doing things they have no passion for (or in some cases things that they hate), and are just generally tired of the daily routine of the 8-hour work day and all the BS that comes with it.
Affiliate marketing is a simple concept, but many have trouble understanding how it works. In it’s most basic form, affiliate marketing is simply referring people to products and services (usually through something called affiliate links; that are provided by the party selling the product), and than getting a commission.
I know this sound like sales, but it is not quite the same thing. Your not talking to people in a one-on-one situation and trying to get them to buy something from you (and if you end up doing that it will be because you wanted to).
Successful affiliate marketing is not tricking people into buying things with sales tactics, it is more about helping people find a solution (with a product through your affiliate links) to particular problem (a niche). Click here for more info about the business.
One of the things I love about affiliate marketing is that you can write about things that you are interested in and passionate about, and make money! For me, that sounds a lot better than sitting in an office or a cubicle for 40 hours a week, making money for other people while you get compensated for a fraction of your production.
Many newbies question whether this type of business even exists, and for good reason considering how many scams there are online. Well, there are lots of different proofs that I could offer that proves the existence of this business (and how profitable it can potentially be), but I think the best one is the fact that there are thousands of big, multi-million and billion dollar companies that use affiliate programs.
Just to name a few; Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Best Buy, Tigerdirect, Newegg, and even Gamestop use affiliate programs. Now, do you think these companies would use their resources to set up affiliate programs if they did not make up a decent size chunk of their millions and billions of dollars in revenue?
There is pretty much an affiliate program for almost anything. Go ahead and open up a new browser, go to Google, and search for any product (or brand) + affiliate program, and I think you will get my point.
What do I need to get started and be successful?
1. You need a trusted resource to help you
It is essential to have help throughout this journey.
It is physically possible to do everything on your own; you could just research affiliate programs, sign up for the ones you like, and rely on affiliate managers (who are infamous for not being incredibly helpful and for being slow to respond to emails), as well as random information that you can find on the internet that may or may not be reliable.
There is a lot of things you can do for free in this business, but eventually your going to have to spend a little bit of money if you want your online business to emulate a full time job.
2. You need to be determined, work hard, practice, and have the willpower to not give up during difficult times.
And believe me the difficult times will come, unless you are already rich and your just doing this for extra money to make the Ferrari payment. These character attributes are critical to being successful when you are trying to start up ANY kind of business.
3. You need a website.
Last on the list but definitely not the least important. Social media marketing is an important tool in the world of online business, but your business would be extremely limited if you relied solely on Facebook and twitter.
If you don’t think that you are capable of building a website; don’t panic. It is easier and cheaper now than it ever was. In fact, I can offer you two websites for free! Just enter a domain name below and chose a name for your website and a theme!
